True for most of the firearms laws in DC, not just this one.

The good people of DC are jumping through hoops for the chit that lets them keep a functional firearm in the home and move it from room to room (but only if they do it themselves).

Ravenwood, I am under the impression that DC is recovering a fired bullet. As only revolvers are being registered, it makes little sense to retain a fired case, because as I’m sure you realize, revolvers only possibly leave fired cases behind if they are reloaded mid-crime.

Gun makers usually provide test fired casings for just such a scenario. If you buy a new Glock, for example, the box contains a little yellow envelope with two casings. You simply give that to the registrar and then pick up your gun when the paperwork comes back.

So true. The NRA really needs to stay on top of this and be ready to strike DC like an F5 in a trailer park, if they cross the line. I’m no lawyer, but hasn’t DC has went too far already?

Also, everyone should know by now, that Barack M5 Obama thinks that DC gun control is just groovy. I expect more of the same if he wins the big dance.

The DC pukes know something, and I hope we all know it. This is a test. This is a test to see how far the antis can push gun owner oppression, post Heller. They will fight tooth and nail and will not let up. Count on it.

Yup, hopefully heller is in the process of filing a 18 USC Section 242 – Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law lawsuits as we speak…

and hopefully he names each city council member, each police administrator and each police officer by name in the suit…

i would love to see Roberts come in during the summer session to issue a contempt order against DC

they have already specifically violated the SCOTUS ruling… they refused to allow heller to regester and license his handgun… regardless of any other factors, the SCOTUS told DC that they MUST allow heller to do so…

Just thought of something vis-a-vis NEW handguns…when such time arrives that an FFL will do a transfer:

By DC law:

You need to submit the gun for ballistic testing to get a registration.

But to take delivery of a gun from an FFL, you need a completed/approved registration. (which you can’t get without the ballistic test!)

The (il)logical conclusion is: There is no way to submit a new gun for ballistic testing, because you can’t take possession of the gun without an approved registration, which requires ballistic testing.

It is legally IMPOSSIBLE to register a new gun in DC.

The new DC laws do NOT comply with Heller.
