I’d rather take my chances with the “sneaky, backstabbing, lying…” who reaches across the aisle too often than elect either of the two ultraliberals who start out on the wrong side of the aisle and never reach across it. Better an imperfect good than a perfect bad.

I am also a constituent of McCain, and as Gregg says, he is a sneaky, back stabbing, lying…. In some ways, he is worse than the others. Clinton is the evil you know, Obama lacks experience to make some things happen, but McCain will gladly “reach across the aisle” to get legislation passed. Hell, I would be amazed if he ever “reached” over to the right side of that aisle. Pure R.I.N.O. Maybe the only positive, is that Gregg and I may finally be rid of him as our senator.

FWIW, I vaguely remember reading about a similar prohibition when Cheney spoke, I believe it was at a Utah GOP thingy.

Though I have to confess it was odd seeing an Indian-American with a southern accent.

I once dated an Indian girl with a southern accent..it threw me off constantly.

He also went to Iowa and spoke against corn and ethanol subsidies. He’s not as bad as everyone makes him seem and I don’t think he is a sneaky liar like Clinton or Obama – “I support the 2A more.” “No, I do.”

I’ve been reading all the various NRAcon posts with envy. But the one that really stands out for me is Sebastian’s quotage from McCain. The guy is really so clueless as to stand in front of an NRA crowd and proclaim that he supports banning private sales? And then later I read he got two standing ovations? Something doesn’t compute here.

McCain was speaking had a prohibition on the day McCain was speaking. And I didn�t drop my weapon off in the room which is why I didn�t go see him speak. NRA says it was McCain�s call. McCain says it was the secret service�s call.

Which secret service guy are we electing to be head of the executive branch?

I’ll cut McCain a break here and say I’d do the same thing were I in his shoes. But then, I’d stop by at a few gun shows unannounced to make up for it. I don’t know how I’d handle the blame game, but I doubt I’d blame the SS.
