tgirsh (I'd say Tom but no one but you would know who I was talking to) I pay for my Web hosting. So what? If I paid for an ad in the local Thrifty Nickel it wouldn't be any different.

I'm selling from my personal collection to Uncle's personal collection after holding the gun for several years. Private party to private party. Why should the state be involved?

I'm legally eligible to buy guns, as evidenced by a number of recent purchases from gun dealers that involved background checks and also my TN handgun carry permit. Uncle, likewise. Why shouldn't we be able to transfer a 50+ year old gun between ourselves without state intervention?

How much was the rifle? I got a little disposable income (so disposable that I have not even deposited the check for a couple of months) and I was musing about a Winchester 94 in .30-30. But maybe I could get both.

Hey! I've got one of those, too! (Actually, I have two, but one is unsafe to fire.) I second the S&B stuff - it's not bad and it is much less expensive than Remington, but reloading is the way to go with the .303. That rifle is a lot of fun to shoot with the 123 grain bullets designed for the 7.62x39 round. (It's less pleasant with the 172gr loads.)

If you do reload .303, I strongly recommend neck-sizing only. The Enfield action has rear, not front, locking lugs, and it's pretty springy. Case life is short, and full-length resizing makes it even shorter.

What is the number on the bolt head? It should be 0, 1, or 2. If it's 2 that means the headspace is nearing maximum, and most every Enfield I've seen has either a 1 or 2 bolt head. I've only seen one zero.

Congratulations on the purchase! Bring it to GBRIII, and I'll bring mine.

Did either private party rent retail sales space at an advertised event to enable the sale prior to the transaction? I understand that this detail is wholly and completely insignificant, but just asking.

S&B makes quite decent .303 for less, if you can find it.

Apparently the prvi partisan produced stuff (aka Wolf Gold) is good as well.
