When seconds count

You better hope you have some politicos private number or you may be screwed:

For three hours, Leon Dixon waited for Detroit police to arrive while he hid in his bedroom from the intruders downstairs.

Several times he called 911 for help, whispering to avoid detection. He even tried the Northwestern District police station directly, but said he was told officers weren’t available because they were in the middle of a shift change.

[…]

Scared, Dixon said he eventually decided to call Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson. “I told her she was my last resort,” he said.

Watson said she called Police Chief Ella Bully-Cummings and the mayor’s office directly to get police to respond. Jewelry and his daughter’s piggy bank were among the items taken, he said. The suspects have not been caught.

To get the police to show up, he had to call a councilwoman.

That is when you call 911 and request an ambulance for the bodies you have laying about. they will respond to that call immediately with armed officers to “save” the wounded crimals from the dangerous home owner.

When they do the job they were hired to do, arrest the criminals, you can tell them to never mind about the bodies.

Of course you could also rack a few rounds in to a pump shotgun and make it true.

Now that’s bullshit! Firefighters respond to calls while in the middle of a shift change, I did so more times than you can shake a stick at, but the cops cant? And cops call themselves professionals?

  3. Lyle Says:

The job of the firefighter is to stop a fire. It is not the job of the police to stop a violent crime (didn’t they sit outside of Columbine HS for four hours while the shooters did their work?). It is to come in afterwards, put up the crime scene tape, draw the chalk outlines, and take notes.

It is the job of the home owner to prevent a fire, put out a small fire, or put out a home invader.

Ahhh, my city (my, the City)….

single digit minute police responce is generated by the magic words. “I have a gun.” Doesn’t matter if you do or don’t, the last thing cops want is the paperwork involved in a justified homocide, or any gun usage, to tell the truth. It’s amazing, thinking about it. They’re out to prevent bloodshed, but only when you’re the one who’s gonna be fighting back. Crazy, right?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
