It's too subject to prosecutorial interpretation. I wouldn't be shocked if they <i>did</i> decide to bring charges because, well, "Once you got the knife away from the yob, you didn't really have any reason to stab him did you?" If there's a body involved, the same thing would happen in a lot of US cities. Now if the Crown decides to bring charges, then it'll be outrage time.
