Concealment is akin to hiding. We may not like the connotation that is conjiured up, as though we were doing something shameful, but "hiding" is not inaccurate. Of course, I hide my penis when I go out and about and nobody seems to think that is shameful. Women generally hide their vaginas and breasts when they go out and about, nobody seems to think that is shameful. (well, actually, I think it's a damn shame, but I'm in the minority). We conceal these things out of consideration for the sensibilities of others. We have no need to be ashamed of having these things. Nor do we have a pressing need to force others to view our possessions. Perhaps the next time someone intimates that concealment is somehow in and of itself shameful we should challenge them to bare all they conceal. Accuse them of hiding what they are ashamed of and demand they justify its bearing and possession, and especially its hidden nature. You will find every argument they use to be valid.
