   Why would anybody waste time looking for a bridge from which to dispose of a murder weapon when the cops will not only melt it down for him, but give him $250 for his troubles?

   Good point but it’s not hard to find a bridge in the Gay Bay. There’s more bridges there than you can shake a stick at.
