About 30 years ago, Jimmy Buffett got sued by the heirs of the Lord Richard (?) Buckley, who wrote "God's Own Drunk". The heir said that the manner in which Buffett performed the song were somehow defamatory to the reputation of the guy who penned this elevated ditty. Jimmy used to stop his show, ask everyone to get a pen and paper, and then he gave them the name and number of the lawyer who represented the plaintiffs so his fans could share their thoughts on his odious lawsuit with him.
