I left California about 6-7 years ago and they were already using remotely controlled thermostats back then. Granted, it was mostly commercial users that opted for it, and it was voluntary, but they gave you a reduced rate on your bill if you had one installed.

I lived in an area served by a utility company that made more electricity than their customers consumed. Did that mean we didn’t have to worry about being hit by rolling blackouts? Of course not! That wouldn’t be fair. Every area, regardless of how inadequate your own power company was at producing the juice their customers needed, was equally subjected to them.

Just one more reason why I left the Golden State.

Does anyone have any good reasons NOT to leave the golden state? I cant think of any.
