Hanging, done right, is as quick and efficient as injection (and no chance of disease from a bad needle stick.) I guess I'll take the heat, but I think we look at our capital punishment laws the wrong way. I believe in capital punishment for the insane. We can't fix them, they are dangerous and we should protect our society from them. Warehousing them, knowing they are unfit/ unable to truly be released in society is torture. Only a sane person believes that 23hr lock down, never to be free is punishment for a crime. Should we keep and care for the caged rabid dog, always watching out in case he bites, or put him down to stop the caged torture, and protecting the rest of us? Put him in a large hamster ball. Then lower him into the water, bringing him up just before he dies. Do it again and again and again. Until you don't bring him up. Seems fitting.
