While we’re at it, lets have ‘em release all medical information, all public school records, all Soc Sec info, driver’s license information, all public utility billing records and all tax returns as “public information”. Oh, and since we’re trying to help out the criminals and stockers, lets make available all records of who has burglar alarms and the types of burglar alarms, plus all firearm purchase details. That would make for a nice “shopping list”, eh?

Oh, but I forgot– I’m paranoid and fearful, so never listen to a word I say.

The move has been met with condemnation from journalists and First Amendment advocates.

“I don’t think that there’s a way on earth that it’s constitutional,” said David Goldberger, a professor who specializes in the First Amendment at Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law. “There are a couple of problems with it. First of all, although it’s not couched in these terms it actually functions as a prior restraint because what it’s doing is trying to prevent public information that is lawfully available to the press, by interfering with the means of publication.”

So, using that argument I guess we can publish the names and addresses of liberal, anti-second ammendment journalists so that the crims know who will be a easy target. Hell, I’ll pay for it!
