You would be amazed at how often “being direct” is misunderstood. It happens to me all the time. They claim, “But what you said means this…” No, it means exactly what I said and nothing more. What needs to be done is to back up your words with actions and keep saying what you mean. But that’s a side note.

I’m not convinced that “the same sheet of music” is the best way to accomplish things. For example, the JPFO can say things that the NRA can’t–guns as a defense against tyranny for example. And the NRA can address hunters issues better than the JPFO. That doesn’t mean that the NRA can’t support the same issues at the JPFO. It just means that one or the other is in a better position to “take point” on an issue. As long as the groups don’t stab each other in the back or get into public quarrels there shouldn’t be a problem. They need to have “back channels” of communication and coordinate some. Even if they don’t agree on the best way to address something they can say, “Okay, you try it your way and we’ll be quiet and see what happens, but if it starts to go sour we are stepping in to do it our.” That sort of thing…

gun rights groups need to pull their heads out of their ass and work together.

Unfortunatly, being diplomatic ofton gets misunderstood. Being direct however, is never misunderstood. I prefer being direct.

And Sebastion is right, the pro-second ammendment groups DO need to get together on the same sheet of music.

Can’t really say I am known for my diplomatic skills or my editorial ones either. I just put it out there plain and simple. But, yes all of the gun rights groups need to get on the same page of music and communicate it to the masses. This we can sing in one harmonious voice.
