I guess who ever came up with this idea is from Europe? Speaking of that, I wonder? I wonder if this is to, no it can’t be? Europeans? No way! Maybe? According to Neal Boortz, condom makers must ship smaller condoms to Europe for proper fit!

Wear an empty holster with a printout of the Constitution rolled up inside. Remind them that it's on OUR side.

RightwingProf, What caliber is that hypothetical? Aren't those originally of Bulgarian manufacture?

I've never fired one but a friend of mine was once accused of having an unprovable hypothetical, I think that means it had no proof marks. He said the recoil from the thing was immediate and harsh depending on company. I think he meant the people around when he used it, not the company that made it.

OTOH he stated that some people readily accepted it and said they had actually seen documentation that his hypothetical was actually a reality. He said in that group there was almost not discernible recoil in horror. I guess that was the shooting range where they tried it out.

His hypothetical turned out to be a reality and the more of them, the fewer injuries and deaths occurred, now that's the kind of weapon to have.

I hope you enjoy yours.

If one of my professors felt threatened by a piece of plastic, nylon, or leather that is sometimes used to carry a firearm, I would drop their class and ask the school for my money back.

I don't blame you. If I weren't retired, I'd wear an empty holster to teach class. Course, I'd get dragged into the Dean's office for it, but it's a hypothetical.

Fnord- adding what was suppose to go with the original post

Just think, if fifty people a day - fifty people a day -
came in sang a chorus of “Alice’s Restaurant” and walked out, they might think it a movement.
And it would be a a movement - "the Alice 's Restaurant Anti-Massacree movement"

I was thinking of this, after hearing that song come up in the rotation. Just the sort of thing to sing to aging hippies turned college administrators. That they are now The Establishment, worthy of being mocked for their pretentiousness and buffoonery. They are the people they were warned about, thirty years ago.

Answer!
It’s actually a goat
A Judas goat is a trained goat used at a slaughterhouse and in general animal herding. The Judas goat is trained to associate with sheep or cattle, leading them to a specific destination. In stockyards, a Judas goat will lead sheep to slaughter, while its own life is spared. Judas goats are also used to lead other animals to specific pens and on to trucks. The term is a reference to the biblical traitor Judas Iscariot.
The phrase has also been used to describe a goat that is used to find feral goats that are targeted for eradication. In many ecosystems goats introduced there mostly by European colonists are a pest or can outcompete endemic endangered species. The Judas goat is outfitted with a transmitter, painted in red and then released. The goat then finds the remaining herds of feral goats, allowing hunters to exterminate them.

I truly believe Reverend Al Sharpton and Reverend Jesse Jackson as Judas Goats of the African American Community!

The lack of the unknown scares anyone, take scuba diving for example. How many shark attacks do you hear on divers yet you get reports on surfers. It’s too bad and sad for those that are scared by a weapon carried by a noncriminal would have a different outlook if they worked professionally around those that do. I find the vast majority of Law Enforcement Officers welcome private citizens with concealed carry.

'tis true, I had tongue firmly planted in cheek. ;)

But, sad to say, there seem to be plenty of folks that are truly afraid of someone who would wear a holster. I have family members like that. And again, sadly, it's because they believe it represents a dark and violent side of the wearer. Sigh.

Absolutely agree. I'm just attempting to say that it's best to stay on good behavior and be respectful of others, especially when they become irrationally irate over free speech and expression.

One more thing, my teachers when I was in school didn’t tolerate the way students talked, walked, the way they dressed, guys pants down around the knees and Girls looking like 5 dollar hookers and bad attitudes. They didn’t kick you out of class, just gave you an attitude adjustment that you’ll never forget!

Rob K, scared me for a minute there it did! Thought a great mind went to mush! In a nut shale, I’m retired Military went all over this world, assisted the Sheriffs Dept. for a number of years in Phoenix AZ on special missions on criminals, drove a 18 wheeler all 48 states and witnessed a lot of things first hand. Saying so, you now got an idea why that set me off! A couple of weeks ago, I dropped by an old stab and grab (now called EZ Mart) to fill up with gas. The same owner that owned the place back in 1975 was still there and recognized me and said she wished I’d move back and carry that big hog leg, Ruger 44 Magnum revolver. Never had a robbery back then and now it’s the norm. My neighborhood is safe place for families due to my lifestyle. I shoot my bow in the driveway into the garage, open carry and treat strangers like my best friend. This scares the hell out of the bad guys and you pointy heads ought to get a grant and research this phenomenon?

Fuzzymak
To open carry shouldn’t bother anyone. Today’s media has made us paranoid. For faculty to carry handguns I don’t have a problem with that provided they been checked out mentally and physically, basic police trained, qualified as Expert Shooters and handguns loaded with frangible bullets.

"I’m sorry but feeling threatened by an empty holster is beyond silly."

Beyond silly is without doubt or question. Anyone who uses fear of an empty holster to squelch free speech or intimidate a protester with an empty holster is well deserving of censure.

That being said, I've been to protests where someone is so verbally and physically (by posture) offensive to the other side that bodyguards have interceded.

All this to say: When your cause is to convince your neighbors to trust each other and to trust you, it behooves you to be trustworthy and present yourself as such.

Ok, as for tdhkerry, he was being sarcastic, cut him a break. The tipoff shoudl have been "willingly dialog and compromise with rapists , muggers, and thieves and murderous jihadis " if nothing else did it. "Nuff said.

Secondly, no one is afraid of an empty holster. The writer of the letter was telling faculty and students how to punish the participants by use of campus police to harrass, detain, and bully them in response to complaints of "fear".
The same words also served the purpose of threat to the participants of what kind of treatment they can expect if they go through with it.

Sheesh guys, pay attention. Think beyond the camouflage.

Obviously, anyone who would wear an empty GUN holster has overcome their unreasonable fear of guns that is a requisite for a properly indoctrinated student. If the university lets this go unchallenged, next thing you know the student body might develop thoughts for themselves and actually do more than regurgitate the party line. It could lead to something horrible, like a student drawing picture of a gun and we know that's the slippery slope.

It’s a safe bet that tkd was joking.

On the other hand, I like how the VP of Student Affairs gave the teachers a hint on how to stifle free expression.

Free expression? Did'nt you know? You're only allowed freedom of expression if it's something the libbies approve of.

A national group known as Students for S&M and Bondage Rights, which advocates allowing students and others to engage in unconventional sexual practices, plans an Leather Bondage Gear Protest all next week. Students who participate in the event are being urged to wear leather bondage accessories to class in order to protest state laws and university policies that allegedly restrict sexual freedom on campus.

Neither state law nor campus policies prohibit wearing such leather items, so anyone who participates in this event is within his or her rights. However, if any faculty member or student feels genuinely threatened, they should feel free to call the University Police Department. If you would, please pass this along to your department chairs and faculty.

Several years as ago, I lived in Fort Walton Beach Florida. I witnessed a case of road rage from a driver that was totally criminal. He wanted to merge into a right lane in the middle of an intersection in two lanes turning left. The woman in the right lane went into a grocery store parking lot and the road rage driver was turning around running over a curb and smoking his tires. I followed the Lady in to the parking lot, pulled my vehicle behind her protecting her and her 10 year old daughter. I told her to stay in her vehicle that she is safe and the road rage driver is now within 100 feet of us coming toward us. I had both my concealed weapons permit and my concealed firearm at the ready. I told the raging mad person to leave now. The person was mentally deranged and had a 12 inch knife in his right hand. In no way could I have controlled this situation and prevented any harm to the Mother and Daughter if I wasn’t armed. 5 minutes later after the individual departed the police finally showed up.
So all due respect tkdkerry, so who is the unbalanced, ready-to-snap, violence-prone loon here?
For those who toss dirt and mud also loses ground!

If one of my professors felt threatened by a piece of plastic, nylon, or leather that is sometimes used to carry a firearm, I would drop their class and ask the school for my money back.

I obviously have nothing to learn from such an idiot.

I use a specially designed fanny pack that I also used in Law Enforcement. I carry my Springfield XD45 in total concealment.
Tkdkerry, can you provide me any proof that “holster is an overt sign that the holder is an unbalanced, ready-to-snap, violence-prone loon who prefers shooting first at anything that casts a shadow”?
Arizona has an open carry law and there hasn’t been a problem yet!
By the way, the next time you see a crime or the victim of a crime, what are going to do? Hold them off with lipstick!

By the way, remember when Bill Clinton was given everything he wanted in a crime bill and it also had the NRA’s backing. Slick Willy vetoed it because of trigger locks was removed from the bill. He and the Democratic Party wanted a loophole to convict the honest American on a technicality. In New York, if a criminal breaks into your home and starts stabbing and shooting your house up and you defend your house with a firearm, the criminal will be on the street the next night doing it again and you will be in jail! That proves my case and point that for the Democratic left to stay in power they must have to accept a certain level of killing to further the Democratic political agenda.

This goes for Schools also!

I’ll protect you says the Democratic Party
And the criminal will be protected!

Beyond silly? No way! That holster is an overt sign that the holder is an unbalanced, ready-to-snap, violence-prone loon who prefers shooting first at anything that casts a shadow. A level-headed, open-minded, reasoned and thoughtful person who understands that one should willingly dialog and compromise with rapists , muggers, and thieves and murderous jihadis would never carry such a symbol of violence, white male oppression, and the tyranny of the Bush administration.
