So long as Fred hasn’t officially declared (which means filing the requisite paperwork) he is not bound by the strict campaign laws (i.e. limitations on the First Amendment)– he’s just a guy saying and doing things, like you and me.

Once he officially declares, he’s more restricted in what he can do, both in fund raising and in his acting profession.

The election’s plenty far in the future. A lot can happen between now and November ’08.

I just hope he doesn’t turn out to be another reluctant, apologetic conservative, making excuses (like Tom Delay) for all those mean, nasty Democrats picking on him. This country can’t afford another Bush/Delay/Gingrich, i.e. someone who believes in throwing bones to his domestic enemies. We need a domestic “fight them here– go on the offensive rather than wait and respond to their attacks” mentality: The socialists need to be the ones on the defensive, the ones having to explain themselves, the ones looking over their shoulders, dreading what’s coming next, ducking for cover and then making lame-ass excuses to their disillusioned base. I’ve had more than enough of that from the Re-pubic-ans.

Fred is far from perfect, but he is getting this part right.

No one’s perfect but Fred’s head and shoulders above the other candidates, assuming that he ever gets around to throwing his hat into the ring.

There will be a pronounced disconnect between the metrosexual Giuliani and many southern Republican voters.

I also like the part about enjoying getting back home to his state where the entire Constitution is respected.
