Here in Missouri August 28th is ‘buy a handgun day’. Our PITA Jim-Crow (truly) remnant PTA law (Permit To Acquire) goes away at the stroke of midnight on the 27th.

Gun stores across the state have safes bulging with ‘concealable firearms’ for pick up on the 28th. One I know of has 50 pistols waiting and is setting a cut-off on the number of sales he can do on the 28th – even with bringing in some extra help.

The ever-indulgent wife will be picking up her G26 after work and I’m thinking of hitting a store near work at lunch to see if I can sneak something in.

There’s some thought in Missouri that we may be the reason he chose August 28th.

He basically had to leave the state to get any attention anymore. One mayor told him to go away because he was costing the city thousands in police protection and another asked the store to close for the day because they couldn’t afford extra security. The owner complied.

I wonder if the national effort will garner as many people as the IGOLD last March?

Yeah. These people should just boycott all gun stores. Promise not to buy any guns from them. Why protest when you can really hit them where it counts?
