I bought my AR-15 SBR directly from Bushmaster. Apparently if you have it done aftermarket, the SOT has to engrave a new serial number on the receiver when it’s registered. Mine has the factory serial registered, so no extra marks other than the ones Bushmaster put on there at the factory.

Overall the process took a year, but about 6 months of that was the backlog at Bushmaster, and another month was for my county’s Sheriff dragging his feet.

Yet another reason (besides the fact that Seattle is becoming to WA what Chicago is to IL and NYC is to NY) that I need to find someplace other than WA to retire: WA doesn’t allow SBRs or SBSs.
