I’m absolutely positive this legislation will force criminals to commit their
felonies sans firearms.
Reminds me of a T shirt I saw today….Don’t stand so close to me. I don’t want to catch a case of stupid!

These are not the same.

“[M]andatory sentencing for violent offenders who commit a felony involving a firearm”.

“[A] person who possesses a firearm while committing a felony”.

Separately, someone who commits a violent felony with a firearm serves less than three years? That kinda sucks.
