I voted for Nader in 2000 because both Bush and Gore were talking about God so much that I thought, "These guys don't really want to be President. They'll sell all their property and give the money to the poor and dedicate their lives to Christ. Might as well vote for the guy who wants to be President." Maybe if Ron Paul can find another 52 million or so flakes like me? I dunno. Gunowners of America, which is more hardline on the RKBA than the NRA, considers him an ally. I think they quote him for an endorsement on their web-site. Sure it was bad, but the underlying bill was too difficult not to vote for (which is why the anti gunners attacked it). A better indicator of intent is how they voted regarding whether to allow the AWB to be attached to the Crime Bill and then, of course, how they voted regarding whether to extend the AWB. The only drawbacks to Richardson (who has recently signed pro-CCW bills into law) is that he's a former Clintonoid and also a Democrat; even though his heart might be in the right place, all the warm bodies in his administration would be from the Loony Left.
