The lights are covered by actual shotgun shells. Looks like a string of shotgun shells, and that's the real name of them above. I didn't examine them too closely, but they weren't very expensive. (...and lest folks think I'm shilling, I paid hard-earned cash for mine, and will be doing so again. Both these companies turn out top-flight gear that can be used by your cousin with the 4th Infantry Division or by your grandma in Des Moines.)
