As I said, I�m quite confident Corker will win. Perhaps if I thought he wouldn�t, I may have voted for him. But i�d have held my nose and carried a vomit bag.

Tempting, but the margin is too thin for me to take the chance. I have my motion sickness bag, a lot of Kleenex, and some Pepto, I am ready to vote. Sorry Harry Reid, no soup for you.

I also voted for Bo Heyward, an independent who calls himself “a conservative without a party”. I would have voted for Ed Bryant had he been the Republican candidate. I contacted Corker’s web-site where it said, “Contact Us” and asked him issue questions. But he didn’t bother replying to try and earn my vote. Neither did Ford reply to the same questions.

My vote is not automatic to the Republican because I’m a conservative; one who wants to conserve the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Even Harold Ford Jr. had a “B” rating with American for Better Immigration (to stop illegal immigration and have no amnesty) than the “C” by Alexander and the “D” by retiring Bill Frist. Party label means NOTHING!! Ford recently quoted 4th Disrtice Democratic Congressman, Lincoln Davis saying “Republicans fear the LORD, but Democrats fear AND love the LORD.” And IF Ford had the voting record of Davis, I’d be voting for him.

Unfortunately, Dan, not holding the republicans to account in either the primary or general will not get them to unstupid themselves.

Key phrase: in … the primary. That’s the time to unstupid a party. That having failed, we’re now stuck with a choice between the occasionally stupid party and the consistently bad one which, in the case of the courts, will continue to produce bad results long after they elected portion of that party loses power.

OK how about this. It’s highly likely that one or more Supreme Court justices will retire after the elction. Control of the Senate is imperative to nominating someone who will interperet the constitution instead of making things up. We also face a dangerous world where victory is not an option. I just can’t imagine throwing my vote away in this environment. I’m pissed at the Republicans, but electing democrats is not the answer.

Losing a bet is one thing. Deliberately playing to lose is another. A vote for any Democrat in the Senate is a vote to bork any Supreme Court nominee worth appointing in the first place.

I’d take you up on the bet but you’d likely win, and in any event, you’ve already bet a lot more than a beer on Corker’s victory. You’ve bet the Second Amendment, the takings clause, and any other hopes of a Supreme Court dedicated to the rule of law rather than the rule of lawyers.
