The moral, of course, is that gun rights are important to both parties

I would argue the moral is the grown-ups in the Democrat Party have realized that gun control is a "third rail" of politics and they're not going to touch it...just yet.

If they get enough seats in Congress, they'll go back to their old habits.

And Allen has a strong record on gun rights, as the only thing I could find is a statement that he opposes absolute right to gun ownership. But then, who doesn't?

That would be the Virginia Gun Owners Coalition, which gave Allen a B- and Webb an F on gun rights. They'd probably give me an N- for supporting laws designed to keep nonexistent undetectable guns nonexistent, and for failing to breach my 2-year contract with Sprint after learning of the company's history of gun control contributions. [Or maybe they'd give me a pass on that last one, as the only way I found out was from the dreaded NRA.]
