My kind of mudslinging

Caught the latest Corker ad. Or should I say the latest anti-Ford ad. It said something to the effect of:

Ford has missed 365 votes.

But has managed to take 59 private junkets.

Now, all the other negative ads that were tacky, but this one could be hammered home. And I wonder why they didn’t start it sooner:

Ford: He doesn’t go to work. Just like John Kerry.

It could work. Because it’s verifiable and it doesn’t involve porn money. But it could be racist. I don’t see how but I’m sure somone is looking into it.

I’m sure the racist connection will be found.

If not, they can always fall back on the fact that when any two or more people of differing race/color/church/sex etc. have a dispute, it’s an “ism” by default.

Perhaps we should ask Mayor Womack what he thinks about the situation.

  3. SayUncle » Run by Slackers Says:

[…] I mentioned here that Harold Ford, Jr. was a slacker. So is Bob Corker: Pierce says that by the last year of Corker’s term, the mayor was hardly ever around, having abandoned his post for a run at the Senate. “The mayor was elected to serve four years, but he only served three,” Pierce says, adding that Todd Womack, Corker’s mayoral spokesman who is now communications director for the Corker campaign, ran the show in Corker’s absence. “Most of the council referred to Todd Womack as ‘mayor.’ ” […]

Your damn straight it is racist. I am not sure how but I know it is.

  5. Ron W Says:

The DNC is running a racist ad in behalf of Ford which claims that he “will get tough on illegals”. Usually when someone (conservatives or Republicans) says something like that, many leftist Democrats and “immigration rights” groups say it’s “xenophobic” or “racist”. Why aren’t they saying it about this ad???

So do they expect Harold Ford Jr., if elected, to oppose them when he gets in the Senate and vote like the majority of republicans in the House?? Or do they expect him to revert to his “C” rating immigration voting record by http://www.numbersusa.com–just like Frist and Alexander??

  6. Ron W Says:

The DNC is running what would usually be derided as a racist ad in behalf of Harold Ford, Jr. in which it says he “will get tough on illegals”. Usually that would considered a “xenophobic” or “racist” attack by Democrat leftists or “immigration rights” groups. I’m wondering where they are on this one? Has the DNC changed? And why hasn’t the “National Council of La Raza (The Race) demanded that Harold Ford repudiate and tell the DNC to pull this ad??

  7. Sean Braisted Says:

I haven’t seen the new DNC ad, but I know this Liberal was criticising Ford months ago for his use of “illegal Immigrants” as scapegoats.

  8. Ron W Says:

Sean, the ad isn’t “new”, it’s been running for some time–at least a few weeks and it’s by the DNC. I thought the DNC was for “immigration rights”, amnesty and open borders–just like their unacknowledged ally on this issue, George W. Bush. So Sean, why is the DNC running this ad and which way will Harold Ford Jr. go if he gets elected? Will he vote with the alleged “xenophobes” and “racists”? Is there a “new” DNC??

And I’m still wondering why the local “immigration rights” groups have been silent on it??

Sean, what would you do if “undocumented residents” invited themselves into your dwelling?

  9. Sean Braisted Says:

    Ron,

If “undocumented residents” invited themselves into my personal “dwelling” I would ask them to leave. If they invited themselves into my neighborhood or apartment complex, I would say welcome friend. There is a difference between Private Property and Public Property…or are you a Marxist who doesn’t see the distinction?

As for the DNC being pro-immigrant, they are, and if I knew which ad you were refering to I would comment on that directly. Both the NRSC and DSCC are running ads which are counter to their national party’s line. For instance, I’ve seen numerous NRSC ads attacking Democrats (like Tammy Duckworth) for being “pro-illegal immigrant” when they support the same policies that Bush and Frist do.

As for Ford, I have no doubt that he will side with the Tom Tancredo “Nationalists” on the issue of Immigration, because he will do his best to continue to court the “Reagan Democrats” (now theres a racist code word for ya) once in office.

Unfortunately in this election both sides have pretty much thrown out ideology in an effort to stay in power. The Democrats, especially the DSCC under Schumer, have decided winning is more important that principle. That is why they supported Lieberman in the primary, and that is why Democrats have rallied around Bob Casey. I don’t necessarily care what the National Party does in those races, but because I live in Tennessee I am concerned with what Harold Ford Jr. does.

But as far as the whole “Racism” in advertisements goes, I haven’t once “condemned” the Republicans for their ads, because frankly I don’t see the racism. I do condemn them when they blatantly lie, as the did with the second RNC ad which attacke dFord for wanting to force state to recognize gay marriage and give “the abortion pill” to school girls. Other than that, unless they hire Al Jolson to star in the Corker ad’s, I’m not going to get into the “this is racist” game.

  10. Ron W Says:

    Sean,
I generally agree with you about the “racist game”.

There are some who saw racism in the RNC against Ford. I didn’t either. I was just making the point that the DNC “getting tough on illegals” could have been alleged as “racist” just as easily, especially by groups like the National Council of La Raza (The Race). Now there is a racist name for an organization! The DNC ad doesn’t even say “illegal immigrants” just calls e’m “illegals”.

But I agree with Ford, when immigrants come to our country illegally, they are illegal immigrants in contrast to LEGAL immigrants. But the real “illegals” are those in Washington, starting at the top with Bush who refuse to enforce our laws and then force taxpayers, health care insurance payers, etc to pay for them!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
