However, his rejection of a slate of Tn Supreme Court nominees because it didn't contain any black candidates is sad. I don't like the idea of a Selection Committee, because I don't think that 17 lawyers should narrow down the 15,000 - 20,000 potential judicial candidates to a few to submit to the Governor. I will vote against him for the above reason, and for the reason noted in the post about lame duck Tn Governors trying to get an income tax passed. It's a shame, because he has been a good Governor, but I believe that race-based selection processes are wrong.
