Well, everyone should get out of New Jersey

Ben:

“The quality of life is going down about as fast as taxes are going up,” said Kuendel, 50, of Atlantic Highlands (New Jersey). He and his wife are looking at houses in Delaware, where there is no sales tax, no income tax and property taxes are relatively low.

Wonder what the correlation between tax rate and U-Haul rentals is?

Delaware doesn’t have a sales tax, but it does have an income tax.

So go live on the border of say Montana and Wyoming. Live in Wyoming, where there’s no income tax and do all your shopping in Montana, where there’s no sales tax.
And if you can also make a living where way out there, more power to you.

Is there any place along that border where that’s feasible? I mean, unless you’re doing your shopping at Grass-R-Us, I’m guessing you’d spend more in gas going from point A to point B and back than you’d save in taxes.

Northeastern Pennsy on the border with Jersey is the way to go.

Major access to North Joisey and NYC for work. Low taxes, good gun laws, and a need for more red voters.*

*all compared to the Great State and Criminal Enterprise that is the Peoples Collective Republik of New jersey.

I know that if you have a Ford Explorer, you can’t rent a U-Haul trailer.
    Pretty infuriating to me…

    tgirsch,
yea, that was pretty much my point.

    Sales Tax Rates

Which states have no personal income tax?

Even if you make a decent living by telecommuting, it’s still about 100 mile from Billings to the WY border (though there may be stores just inside the MT border. They have casinos just inside the Nevada boarder up by Lake Tahoe).

  7. Standard Mischief Says:

Live in Alaska, not only no income tax and no sales tax, but as a lawful resident of the state you get a cut of all the state owned mineral reserves.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
