Talk about a flip-flop, literally one extreme to the next. But it’s more likely political opportunism. [...]

[...] This morning on the local talk radio, Ford was asked about the second amendment. He stated he had a B rating from the NRA. I reported here that he had an F rating. My first thought was he just flat out lied to east Tennessee. But Ford isn’t that stupid. I figured something had to be up. Turns out, Project Vote Smart has a timeline of sorts on gun ratings. I put it in chronological order and condensed it to the following: 1999-2000 Gun Owners of America assigned Representative Ford a grade of F- [...]

I'd have to agree. Junior says all the right things, but if the winds were to change, I think he would, too.

I tend to concur because Ford would likely toe the line after getting elected.

Harold Ford is a Clintonite who will say whatever it takes to get elected and not appear to be liberal.

A few days ago he shared the stage with Governor Bredesen and said something like "your gun rights are safe in Tn with us".

Bredesen is a bona fide gun friendly governor, I believe, but I would defer to anyone who follows him closely on that issue.

Electing Ford as a US Senator would be a disaster.
