Location, location, location

In Illinois, there is a bill to ban manufacture of weapons that look like assault weapons. There a some pretty prominent gun makers there, like ArmaLite and Les Baer. I’ve never understood why manufacturers operate in such states, you have Colt in Connecticut and S&W in Massachusetts as well. And it seems only reasonable that it’s only a matter before the powers that be turn their sights on you and, in Illinois, they have.

So, to all you gun makers out there, consider moving to a free state.

Not certain how exactly they define ‘assault weapon’ in IL, but does the M1A qualify, as it comes from the factory? Isn’t Springfield Armory in IL?

I know by adding certain stocks, you can make the M1A into an AW by just about any definition in use.

“Assault” is a type of crime or a type of military offensive tactic. One can commit the crime of assault with just about anything including fists which makes whatever is used an “assault” weapon.

(Ask someone who wants to impose unarmed pacifism on the rest of us if they support fist control)

Militarily speaking it’s probably best to have a full-auto weapon to carry out an assault. Therefore, I would define “assault weapons” as full-auto ones–which have made illegal to citizens since 1934 without an intrusive and expensive federal permit.

Why is it that many polticians, particularly of the presidential variety like Clinton, Bush and virutally all of the Democratic and Republican candidates, want to deny us semi-auto weapons (which they call “assault weapons”) when they have “assault weapons” paid for by us for their protection, even while campaigning fo the job?

Such arrogant elitism that ignores and disdains the Bill of Rights makes them unfit to be the public servants of a free people!!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
