Depends how rational your basis is for thinking you might need one. Is someone who thinks they need to wear tinfoil on their heads to keep the scanning rays out paranoid, or just prepared?

If I were to guess, I’d say that you’re statistically far more likely to need a defribillator than a gun, and I’m betting you don’t carry the former around with you.

Yeah, no offense, but some of your commentators shouldn’t be allowed anything more dangerous than a short piece of string. And there are some I would keep the string away from. The idea of these people carrying their itching trigger finger everyone is out to get me paranoia into the grocery store next to my kids is a wee bit disconcerting

I still think you’re oversimplifying it. It’s one thing to support owning guns for security and defense in the home, and quite another to support allowing virtually anyone to carry out in public. You’re close to one end of the gun spectrum, and there are some on the other end (the “anti-gunnies,” to use your term), but the vast majority of folks fall somewhere in between. Recall that polling in Wisconsin shows the populace more or less evenly divided on CCW, independent of what the legislature is doing. Neither the pro-CCW camp nor the anti-CCW camp can claim majority support among the people of Wisconsin, and while the pro-CCW camp generally has an advantage, it’s very slight, and probably within the statistic margin of error.

As with most such things, I think you’d find that the rural folks overwhelmingly support it and the city folks overwhelmingly oppose it, hence the roughly even split.
