Some of the Post writers are a little pieved because just anyone with a blog can comment on a WaPo story and get autolinked. Tino noticed this also and made a few good comments, like how bloggers, given a choice of places to link to, (for say, an AP newswire story) might just decide to Pravda on the Potomac for the free traffic building back links.

They've actually been doing that for some time (at least a couple of months) on almost all of their stories. Its a nice feature and one more indication that the Post "gets it" at least compared to its rival in New York.

They have been pretty steadily moving all their best content to the web and changing their business model. You can see them setting themselves up to be THE DC web page for a long time to come.
