I read that as have you ever stayed in a mental instituation, which i think would be the common man’s reading. Weather you went voluntary or not, is not the issue. I do not know if my reading is correct or not by a legal standard, but then again I also dislike most lawyers.

Of course the forms are also written by lawyers, so the chick could be right on that point.

Cool, I’m glad she got that straight. But I have to point out that she did a crappy job explaining everything in the first place:

Inside, I filled out a standard form to make sure I was legal. Restraining orders? None. Felony? Nope. Ever been committed? Snicker. Technically, no. Not by a court. Am I a fugitive from justice? I bet fugitives usually answer that one honestly.

Of course, it wouldn’t be as entertaining a read had she not spiced it up a bit. I also notice she issued her correction in her own blog and not on the Democratic Underground.
