Anyone ever wonder why there’s a B.E.T. (Black Entertainment Telivision) and not a white equivalent W.E.T? One would assume that MTV comfortably shoulders the mantle of white entertainment (still hopelessly more multi-cultural than BET). However, MTV is still not as pronouncedly White as BET is pronouncedly Black. If there was a WET would it be dubbed racist? How would BET respond, already pidgin holin’ itself as a one race station?
My solution is not to bring about WET, but rather change the name BET to something friendlier and more culturally, racially open, like Afro-Vibe, or Street Beat.

I’m actually encouraged by this, but it would have been better if you had cited a half dozen or so links instead of the one.

I based what I said over the last month or so of casual reading. I do remember her total lack of blame for Katrina mistakes on any Dems in LA.

I know nothing about this guy or where he sits on the Democrat spectrum.

Egalia is a Liberal Democrat spin doctor without an original thought in her head. Her tactics include perpetuating the stereotype that all Republicans are racist, mean, rich people that want to keep poor people down, make everyone follow the mores of the Puritans, and oppress minorities.

Her posting standard mischief is to spin the facts that support her agenda and outright ignore any uncomfortable facts that oppose her side. She never takes issue with her own party agenda, because those people are perfect.

There is a place for her blog for someone trying to read widely to get the big picture, but I would try to balance that out with a Republican Conservative �talking point� zombie. Anyone have any suggestions?

Then that’s the portion that she could have quoted to be a bit more credible. She chose to credit a quote not by Staghounds to Staghounds. That’s my issue. As for happens to be black, what’s your point? I did not defend the guy who said that. There are also racial divisions among black people in other parts of the world.

I don�t know about egalia�s other posts you�ve criticized, but I don�t think she�s that far off with this one.

Those other posts are linked in this post. Yes, she is. She had to either intentionally mislead to make her point or she’s just stupid or she thinks her readers are.

I guess that leaves some “plausible deniability” to Mr. Staghound — no, *he* doesn’t think *that*, nosirreebob — but not really very much.

As for the ‘happens to be black’, so what? There are millions of black people, of all classes, family backgrounds, etc. My understanding is that particularly down in the Caribbean area — Haiti, Jamaica etc. — where the quoted guy is apparently from, there are pronounced racial divisions and discrimination between the more-white and less-white black people.

What’s more, the guy is reacting to the sensationalized media reports about New Orleans. The reality appears to have been quite different.

I don’t know about egalia’s other posts you’ve criticized, but I don’t think she’s that far off with this one.
