So a state that wants to empower women to take their defense in their own hands is a “good-old boy state” but I suspect that you feel that a state like Massachusetts that makes a woman get a pistol permit to buy even a can of MACE is a state that empowers women and is the halmark of diversity. But the last time I looked, Massachusetts has 2 male Senators, a male governor and has never had a woman elected to the highest offices and probably will not anytime soon.

Your sarcastic comments that a man cannot know anything about a woman is ignorant and I will not even respond. And, where did I say that the only women who are ’strong and esteemed’ are the ones who agree with me?

Below is what I said (notice the qualifier?), and it is scary as hell to think that someone with your questionable language comprehension skills has anything to do with writing laws for us ’strong and esteemed women’ who are 15% of the U.S. Congress and probably less than that in your pathetically good-old-boy state. In fact, it appears that the only women you view as strong and esteemed are the women who agree with you. The rest of us ‘perpetuate the abuse.’

I just wanted to relate my thoughts on this qoute.

“Legislature wants to hand out guns” sounds much more dangerous than, “Legislature wants to give potential victims of domestic violence information on how to defend themselves.” The CHOICE is up to them.

On the other hand, calling it “deduction”, when egalia’s argument would more properly be called “inductive” reasoning was probably simply sloppy grammar. (But now i’m just being a bitch.)

The notion that “the guns will be used against them” is ignorant. I believe this notion of the “weak, scared, and unable to respond to life’s events” stereotype is dangerous for women and perpetuates the abuse because women learn to be like this from people like Egalia. Women are strong, esteemed, have powerful minds, and can learn how to use a gun for lawful purposes.

If you want to end the control, stop teaching women to be victims which is how one is controlled in the first place

I didn’t label your ‘views’ ridiculous, merely your wild assertions (like they’re giving out guns).

It is more than info, obviously it is encouragement to get guns, and encouragement from law enforcement officials and legislators no less.

I don’t see any point in addressing our different viewpoints, when we can’t get past this simple one. I prefer to attempt to find common ground with people and then attempt to understand (and respect) differences, but when my views are labeled “ridiculous’, I can take a hint.
