If you have Firefox, go fetch yourself "tabbrowser preferences" I've got it set so that if I click on a link, the window goes to that link, if I middle click (scroll wheel) on a link, it opens in a new tab, irrespective of whatever way the site owner set it up. This is just the way I like it, you can tweak it any way you want.

(OT) The top 7 reasons why I won't go back to IE

7. Tabbed browsing is better.

6. No active-X exploits for spyware to use.

5. CookieCuller and Add N Edit Cookies – keep only the cookies that add to the web experience for you. Upchuck any other cookies at the start of every session.

4. Flashblock – turns those annoying flash logos into a button, click if you really want to see it.

3. Tabbrowser preferences - make links work any way you want.

2. Adblock – miss seeing most ads when used with a good blocker script.

1. I'm using Linux, you insensitive clod! (But Firefox is a free download for MS windows)

Here's a vote against having links open in a new window. I hate it when sites do that. I right click and have Mozilla open links in a new tab.
