Yes, this was the same "gun surrender" scheme, but the guy got his Arisaka back AND got to keep his $75 Target gift card. And Karl and I weren't arrested, only threatened. The paper didn't check facts before printing.

I wonder if this is the same gun theft scam where the West Palm Beach police landed themselves a rare $5,000 japanese rifle in exchange for a $75 Target gift card.

Damn, did I forget to mention that it's not really a "buy-back" unless they're only taking in USA surplus? They never owned the guns in the first place. How many CMP [1] Garands are they getting?

"Buy-Back" is straight outta the Ministry of Propaganda.

Obviously, we need to hold those arresting police personally responsible for violating well entrenched civil liberties. Perhaps then (“bad seed”) police will stop acting like a bully with a badge and gun.

Around here, they stop the third party sales by having them in Washington DC. Possession of a single round of spent (!) .22 ammo is violating the same law as carrying concealed w/o a permit and carries the same penalty (source: packing.org) [insert snarky comment about the capital of the free world here]
