On a serious, and ugly note, what is to keep an incumbant from harrassing any challenger by having an “unrelated” developer submit plans for the challenger’s home during a campaign?

The time involved and distraction of such an event would certainly have an impact on the ability to campaign. Kinda hard to focus on your job when being served with an eviction notice.

Almost any politicians house, (or church), could be E.D.ed into some tax-generating private enterpris
e. How about a bull-fighting stadium on Bush’s ranch in Crawford? Crawford can’t be making a dime off the prez…
You think this kind of thing is a joke? I guarantee you it’s NOT. Developers all over are looking at tracts of land now occupied by private homes, churches, small businesses..
Move those people OUT and start generating some MONEY.

Funny, I must have seen this at about the same time you did, because I just linked it, too. A cheap publicity stunt, albeit a better one.

He’d have been better served to kill two birds with one stone and propose taking Breyer’s land to put up a Ten Commandments Museum.
