Normally I would agree, if it weren’t for the ratings curse that affects us all.

For instance most movies now a days are PG-13. They push the edge and then back away from an R rating by cutting out parts until they hit the PG-13 sweet spot.

I say make all movies R-rated and make the kids sit at home. Better yet, make them X-rated and insert gratuitous sex scenes at random intervals. That’ll keep me interested.

I tend to agree, but the only way for a parent to restrict content is if it the content is rated and those standards are aheared to.

For example, if a parent uses the V-chip to block all content that is not G, then a commerical with a naked woman comes on during the G rated show, the parent is just screwed.

To me it seems that groups calling for parent responsiblity, we also have to call for the parent to be enabled to take responsiblity.
