What HL said. The trouble with Illinois is that for good guy with the designation (D-Nowherenearchicago) there’s a RINO with the designation (R-Anywherenearchicagoexceptchicagoitself).

A quick map check shows Norris City to be in far southern Illinois, due west of Evansville, IN.

My understanding is that Southern Illinois Democrats are a lot like, well, Yellow Dog Southern Democrats.
