And yes, 40mm is the caliber of the M203 under-rifle grenade launcher used by the US military, as well as the Vietnam-era M79 it replaced. Also the caliber ofthe Bofors anti-aircraft guns used by the Navy in WWII and on the ill-fated Sgt York ADA vehicle in the 80s. I wasn’t aware Glock made grenade launchers.
