Knife blogging

The Geek ponders a new blade. I carry a Henckels or an Old Timer.

    Kershaw Ken Onion Black scallion.

Assisted opening, so it’s a snap (literally) one-handed, sharp as a razor blade, and available at Wallyworld for $25.

How can you argue with that?

  2. Phelps Says:

I’ve had the same Swiss Army Camper for years. It is the right size to carry anywhere but the courthouse and the airport, and it has enough geegaws on it to make it worth carrying. I had a cherry handle switchblade that I would switch out with it every so often, but my father welded his to an electric oven working on it, so I gave him the switchblade as a replacement. (It was a $15 gunshow special.)

SAK Camper here too, and a Kershaw “Onion” series. I have a strange mental block on which “name” it is — either a chive or a scallion — 2.5″ blade, all black.

But of course I own an Old Timer “Stockman” as well, and some others, including one Joel Chamblin. Those top two are my “carry” knives.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
