90% is unacceptable

Looks like the New Jersey Smart Gun works, or so they tell you. What actually happens is:

Sixteen electronic computerized sensors embedded in the gun’s grip distinguished known from unknown users. “We’ve only just begun and we’re pleased to say that we’re getting 90 percent reliability when scanning users,” said Sebastian.

No thanks.

    Oh Christ!

90% reliability is perfectly OK if you’re trying to select a rip canteloupe at the grocery store. Or trying to pick just the chocolates with soft centers.

Have these surviving brain donors found any cops who have said they’re willing to strap one of these “smart” guns on his hip and actually rely on it to save his life.

Given that true 100% reliability can never be achieved, who’s still pouring money into this project? Never mind, don’t answer that.

IF you get to 99.9% reliability, would you be willing to go to your 2,000 member oplice force and tell them that two officers will likely die this year as a direct result of “smart” gun malfunction.

AAAGH! Usually I don’t get this ticked off until AFTER 9:00 AM.

Actually, I think cops in NJ would be exempt from smart gun rules but citizens wouldn’t be. Theres’ a reason cops are exempt.

  3. Fox Says:

Ah, but at the same time, the Cops are the ones who should really have them. How many Cops are killed by their own guns each year? So, let’s have them use these things first and we’ll watch the fatalities due to the system. Then, maybe, Jersey will figure out what’s wrong with their law.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
