Just as Americans can over the basic meaning of the First Amendment while disagreeing over exactly how far it goes, the same is true of the Second Amendment. I'd also apply it to the Chuck Schumers of the world who concede in principle that the Second Amendment means what it says, but then argue that it allows just about every restriction imaginable, for any reason or for no reason.
