Let’s not start singing praises yet

The local news is all ga-ga over a road construction project in Knoxville that was completed seven months early. What about the Alcoa Highway bridge, which should have been done last year, I think? Or the bridge on Asheville Highway that should have been done two years ago? Or the never-ending orange barrels that litter I40 for as long as I’ve been driving?

I almost posted on this topic, going to say it reminded me of when I lived in Maryland between DC and Baltimore… A company was just about done with a new bridge when it collapsed and they had to rebuild it. But hopefully in this case it got done early and also correctly, which is much more important!

The way I understand it, TDOT uses I-40 to store their orange barrels.

I have to hand it to TDOT. The Pellissippi Parkway re-paving went much faster than expected, and resulted in only occassional delays.

It’s news when they finish early..its business as usual when projects are late and over-budget.

I heard that oft-discussed “Orange Route” bypass will be done sometime around the year 2147.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
