I’ve seen several comments making light of how since we caught Saddam, we’re not really that much safer…

Two things: 1) Would you rather we left him alone?

2) As of this moment (12/24, 12:52am EST) we’re all still alive and safe)

I dont ever see hijackers taking control of another plane in the US. Some fucker tries to take over my flight and I’m gonna beat him to death with whatever I have at hand (maybe I’ll choke him with a peanut bag). Too many passengers have “wised” up since 9/11…no more sheep doing what they are told by a guy holding a box cutter.

Nah, I’m glad they caught him, and I’ve supported the war effort from day one. Saddam was waaaay too unstable and dangerous to leave in power.

I guess I was having a little fun at Tom DeLay and Rush Limbaugh’s expense. Both of the wingnut attack dogs criticized Gov. Dean for stating that Americans were no safer with Saddam in prison, insinuating that the Butcher of Baghdad was somehow pulling the strings of a world-wide terror network from that spider-hole in Tikrit.

Today, less than a week later, there are surface-to-air missile batteries deployed in the nation’s capital, and Tom Ridge is telling us to enjoy the holidays but watch our backsides. It’s pretty obvious that Dean was right.
