Wouldn’t it be -giggle- called a Feel Tank?

From FoxNews:

A new left-wing think tank — the Center for American Progress — unveiled itself Tuesday as the Democratic vaccine to what center supporters say is a plague of conservatism now dominating America.

“We think the debate has been unbalanced in the country,” center president John Podesta, a former chief of staff to President Clinton, told Fox News.

Debate maybe unbalanced because Democrats don’t really have a platform these days, other than Bush is wrong.

Podesta, isn’t he the one involved in researching the Pennsylvania UFO thing?

    Inspires confidence, doesn’t it?

One wonders how seriously one can continue to take you if you continually make demonstrably false statements like “the Democrats don’t have a platform other than Bush is wrong.” All of the front-running candidates have platforms and plans, if you’d bother to look. I posted just such a link yesterday.

Meanwhile, I suppose you’re willing to concede that, using similar logic, the Republicans in 1998 had no platform other than attacking Clinton.

Anyway, this story is so last week. πŸ˜‰

In 98, you’re right. Maybe i should revise my statement about platform to platform anyone cares about.

    Dems don’t have the economy.

    The don’t have the war.

    Etc.

have you even watched a debate tgirsch? its all anti-bush, bush is wrong. i watched the first one and swore to never watch another one again. on another note, I hear Dean is calling himself a “metro-sexual” via Drudge. Uncle, i know you dont like Bush but for the love of christ, vote for ralph nadar before you dump your vote on that guy.

In all honesty, I have not watched a debate. But I don’t doubt your assessment of how those go. They’re always about attacking the incumbent (and each other) and very light on substance, regardless of which party you’re talking about.

But that doesn’t mean they don’t have a platform.

    Uncle:

Perhaps you don’t care about deficit reduction, or health care, or restoring America’s reputation with Europe, but I certainly do, and these are issues the challengers, to varying degrees, address. Do you have to wade through a lot of Bush-bashing to get to the substance? Of course. Just like you’d have to wade through a lot of “lib’rul” bashing on Hannity and Colmes to get to the substance there. Oops, I think I just made your point for you — there is no substance on Hannity and Colmes… πŸ˜‰

  6. SayUncle Says:

Well, i am concerned about the deficit, even though it’s made up. As for europe, don’t care. As for healthcare, it’s not the government’s job.

  7. tgirsch Says:

Hope you don’t mind your premiums continually going up at 2-3 times the rate of inflation, then. With a Little Uncle on the way, that’s really going to start to smart.

You might not think that government-run health care is the answer, and frankly, I’m not sure I’m sold on that either. But things cannot be allowed to continue at their current pace, or only the wealthiest Americans will even be able to afford decent health care. I’m not sure I want to see us turn into even more of a plutocracy than we already are.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
