Mars: Disappointing
Been checking out Mars. Here what it looks like:

I was disappointed. So, having no telescope, I had to make due. I got a rifle with a scope (no, I wasn’t trying to shoot down Mars). With the rifle scope, it looked like this:

Yup, not real exciting.

How dare you point a weapon at Mars! I hope it was unloaded with 2-3 child safety locks…you gun lovers are all alike…crazy mars killers…

Given a decent telescope, you probably would have been able to make out at least one polar ice cap. But it’s kind of a geeky thing. Being able to make out any details on an object thats millions of miles away is intriguing to me.
Jupiter and Saturn are still favorites of mine for telescope viewing. There’s something cool to me about being able to make out the moons, the stripes, and (in Saturn’s case) the ring band.

If you ever get the chance, a rifle scope will allow you to view the space station very well. Provided that the lighting is adequate…
